Celebrating Tejanos in Texas.
This website lander & the accompanying advertisement designs were created for my internship with Texas State Historical Association to encourage attendance at their Mexican American Symposium in correlation with the 5th Anniversary of the Tejano Monument at the Texas capitol.
The visual design emphasizes celebration by drawing inspiration from fiesta decor with bright colors and papel picado. My supervisors requested that the design feel like a concert poster, so I decided to feature a vibrant palette & large banner graphics.
WEBSITE
A festive invitation.
The user is met with a vibrant fullscreen banner which provides an overview and sets a festive tone. To avoid confusion and provide convenience, I included a button that smooth scrolls to the RSVP form below, & an arrow button that navigates the user to the next section of the lander.
All content lives in distinct sections to avoid eye fatigue while still being economical with space. For example, I placed the RSVP form next to the schedule so the user can contemplate if they want to attend while simultaneously viewing the schedule of events.
Providing key information in a simple & clear way.
The schedule provides a digestible overview of events that highlights key information and the sponsor of each event. The speakers and performers are displayed in a clean grid view and separated into two labeled sections,. The website is entirely responsive and optimized for desktop, tablet, & mobile screens.
ADVERTISEMENTS
Let's all celebrate!
The advertisements were meant to promote awareness and encourage attendance, so I created a bold design to grab the user's attention. I made a banner & Facebook advertisement to market the event on the TSHA website as well as social media sites. These advertisements echoed the graphic driven design I utilized in the lander to promote brand consistency.
