Hey y’all! I'm Gabriela Parrott.
I am a user experience driven product designer.
NOTE: The opportunities I have received since graduation in 2018 have kept me busy, so this portfolio is very outdated but if you want to understand my foundation, go ahead & take a gander at my older work.
My affinity for design was inspired by a love of fine arts. From ages 11 to 18, I was a student at SAY Sí where I learned painting, drawing, sculpture, & mixed medium skills. My passion for creating a positive impact with the power of visual arts inspired me to study Design with a minor in HCI (User Experience) at the University of Texas at Austin. Coursework and internships pushed me to become proficient in Sketch, Figma, InVision (Craft and Studio), Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML, & CSS, .
My career opportunities have given me the chance to work in product design and user experience as it pertains to healthcare, financial, and social technologies. I am enamored with the product development process and am at my best when I can work collaboratively with product teams. My educational, professional, and life experiences have made me particularly passionate about how human centered design can create solutions for healthcare, education, politics, and other emerging digital solution frontiers.
When I'm not squinting at the computer screen, you can find me losing my balance in yoga class, baking something way beyond my technical skills, or walking my cat Pixel around town (seriously- she has a leash & outfits).
